This medical 3D animation was created to clearly explain the surgical principles behind facelift and ponytail lift procedures. Because most of the treatment takes place beneath the skin, photographs and verbal explanations alone cannot fully illustrate the procedure. Based on real surgical techniques, Studio99 visualized each step—from the anatomy of the skin, fat, and SMAS (Superficial Musculoaponeurotic System) to tissue dissection, repositioning, and fixation—through detailed 3D animation.
The animation begins by revealing the layered facial anatomy, allowing viewers to understand where the procedure takes place beneath the skin. Unlike live-action footage, 3D medical visualization provides a clear view of internal structures, making complex surgical concepts easier to understand for both patients and healthcare professionals.
It then illustrates the incision sites around the temple and behind the ear, followed by the insertion of the endoscope and the step-by-step tissue dissection process. The position and movement of surgical instruments are accurately visualized, helping explain the procedure in a precise and intuitive way.
The animation also demonstrates the core principle of the ponytail lift, where the SMAS layer and surrounding soft tissue are elevated rather than simply tightening the skin.
